John A. “Jack” Hagerty

 

John A. “Jack” Hagerty of Quincy, died August 11, 2018.  The beloved husband of the late Mary (Grant) Hagerty. Devoted father of  Kerry Whooley and her husband James of Quincy. Brother of David Hagerty and his wife Carol of Billerica, Ann Leurini and her husband Bob of Bridgewater and the late Daniel Hagerty and his wife Marney of Quincy. Cherished Pa to Faith, Tom, Will and Matt Whooley all of Quincy. Jack is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.

 

Jack grew up in Dorchester. He attended St. Mark’s Grammar School, Christopher Columbus High School and graduated from Northeastern University. Jack served in the United States Marine Corp. and rose to the rank of Sergeant. After his military career and upon graduation from Northeastern University Jack began his career as a coordinator for Boston Edison, where he worked for more than 35 years. He enjoyed following the New England Patriots but his true passion were the Boston Red Sox, he was their biggest fan. Jack will be remembered as a loving and devoted family man. His family is saddened by his loss, but they are grateful for all the blessings he brought into their lives. He will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM.
