Mr. John J. Trayers, of Rockland, formerly of Wollaston, passed away on  July 17, 2019.

Loving husband of Sarah G. “Sally’ (Mullan) Trayers.

Father of  Patricia M. Ryan and her husband, Joseph, of Holbrook, and Michael J. Trayers of Weymouth. Brother of the late Paul F. Trayers, Martha L. Chaisson, and Kenneth Kalen. Grampa to Jack, Evelyn, and Allison Ryan. Loving “Unc” to many nieces and nephews.

John was a very proud Korean war veteran serving in the United States Navy. John’s greatest joy  was his family and they were forever his priority. He loved to tell stories, jokes and is known for many of his famous sayings. John enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cooking. He loved to shovel snow and help his neighbors. John wore many hats in his life time: as a Tin Can Sailor in U.S.Navy on USS Picking, a Johnson & Johnson Machinist, mechanic, St.Ann School custodian, livery driver, auto-parts delivery, T-ball coach, church usher, Sunday morning Chef and perpetual handyman. All who had the privilege of knowing John will miss the unique gift he was to the world.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-7 PM with funeral service following at 7 pm.in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) , Weymouth. Cremation will follow.
