John J. Sullivan

John J. “Jack”Sullivan of Rockland, previously a longtime resident of Weymouth, died January 14, 2018 at the age.of 88.

Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from New England Life Insurance in 1992 after more than 20 years of service. Previously, he worked as the director of catering for the Statler Hilton Hotel in Boston. Jack was a 4th Degree Knight and member of the Weymouth Knights of Columbus, Council 5027. He was a WWII history buff. An advocate of life long learning, Jack was also the first coordinator of OLLI at UMass. Jack will be remembered for his outgoing demeanor and willingness to chat with anyone.

He was the beloved husband of Sally Ann (Styles) Sullivan. Loving father of Kevin Sullivan of Woburn, Brian Sullivan and wife Kathleen of Whitman, Paul Sullivan and wife Christine of Pembroke, and Eileen Sullivan and husband James Perreault of Concord. Devoted grandfather of Jonathan, Thomas, Alyson, Mary and Christopher. Brother of Joanne Daly of Milton. Brother in law of Carolyn, Maureen and Charles. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Milton Cemetery. Donations in Jack’s memory may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St., Weymouth, MA 02190 and/or Friends of South Shore Health System, 55 Fogg Rd., Weymouth, MA 02190.
