John J. “Jack” Carmody

John J. “Jack” Carmody of Quincy passed away peacefully July 3, 2018.

Jack was born in Boston and was the loving son of the late John and Mary Rose (Carney) Carmody. He was the loving father of Kathleen Cordeiro and her husband James of Middleboro, Cheryl Carmody of Hingham and Michele Carmody Johnson of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of Stefani and her husband Brandon, Scott, Jessica, Quinn, Elysia, Kerin and the great grandfather of Kenzie May. Big brother of the late Maureen Carmody and Clare Larkin. Former husband and friend to Nancy (Schultz) Carmody.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family, who loved his sense of humor and the twinkle of his eyes. Jack was lucky enough to take an early retirement and spent his remaining years pursuing new interests and learning new hobbies. He was a Special Olympics Basketball coach and a member of The South Shore Joeys. Jack enjoyed juggling and traveled across the country to participate in juggling conventions. He was a strong union advocate as a member of The Local 103 IBEW.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be held on Monday at 7 PM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home.
