Connolly, John J. of Quincy, died October 9, 2021.  

John adored his family, especially his grandson Michael. He enjoyed going to all of his sporting events, fishing, and listening and humming to country music. He was a retired member of Laborers Local 223. John was easy going, helpful, giving, and friendly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Devoted son of Helen T. (O’Brien) and the late Martin C. Connolly. Beloved husband of Marilyn (LaMothe) Connolly of Quincy. Cherished step dad of Melissa Markuns of North Andover and Michael Markuns and daughter in law Nellie Luis of Braintree. Loving brother of Patricia Faria and her husband Joe of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Margaret McKeen and her husband William of Dorchester, Mary Pitts and her husband Paul of Jamaica Plain, Martin Connolly and his partner Trisha Hardiman of Dorchester, Teresa King and her husband James of Quincy, and Aileen Connolly and her wife Sasha Tyler of Dorchester. Adoring Papa of Michael A. Markuns, his best buddy #88. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, his fishing buddy Frank Gillan, and his dog Meeka and cat Latchaco. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral home service will be celebrated on Monday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
