John F. Rein Sr.

Rein, John F., Sr.  of Quincy, passed away June 20, 2017.

John was a longtime resident of Quincy. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an Electronic Technician at Audivox for 31 years and was also a Manager of Support Services at State Street where he retired in 2003. John was known as the neighborhood dad throughout the years. He loved his kids and his grandchildren. John was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Notre Dame fan. He was also a devout Catholic and enjoyed listening to classical music. John will be remembered for being a generous soul, who donated his time wherever he could. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Dear husband of 40 years to the late Patricia A. Rein (Sullivan). Beloved father to Gail Mahoney and her significant other Allan Timmins of Spring Hill, FL, Vivian Rein of Attleboro, Henry “Hank” Corcoran and his significant other Debra Gould of Quincy, Ruth Corcoran and her Fiance Neil Connors of Quincy, Mary Ellen Small and her husband Steven of Bourne, and John F. Rein, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Rockland. Cherished “Grampy” to Brianna, Charlie, Jeff, Fox, JT, Kaleab and the late Donald. Great “Grampy” to Amelia.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
