Hayes, John F. “Buddy” 83 of Yarmouth Port, formerly of Brighton, California, and in his later years at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea, passed away peacefully March 20, 2017.  

Son of Harry and Anna Hayes of Brighton, John was formerly married to Emma. He worked in the automobile renovation industry before retiring to Yarmouth Port to be near family. John served with the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955.

He is survived by his loving sister Evelyn P. Hayes of Yarmouth Port and brother Harry J. Hayes of Bourne, and his predeceased sisters Ann M. Connor and Theresa J. Mason. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 9:30-10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
