Joanne N. Graceffa-Riley, of Hopewell Virginia and formerly of Quincy, passed away peacefully at the Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center in Virginia on November 1st. She was 68.

Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Quincy and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ruth (Nudd) Graceffa. Joanne graduated from Quincy High School with the Class of 1968. After high school, Joanne continued her education at Boston University. She majored in Philosophy and earned her bachelors degree in 1972. Joanne later started her graduate work at the University of New Orleans with a concentration in finance.

Throughout her career, Joanne worked as a financial advisor. Following her husband’s retirement, she worked with him serving private clients with their financial needs.

Joanne was scholarly and valued education. She loved to read and her favorite author was John Grisham. Joanne was always actively working on personal research projects. She enjoyed keeping up to date on topics within the finance industry and keeping current on the stock market. Joanne was always up to date on politics and current events.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoyed bowling with her husband and friends. Though they weren’t members of a league, they played regularly. When she was young, she enjoyed sailing with her father and friends. Joanne’s favorite place to be was in Boston and she loved Squantum. Joanne and her husband often enjoyed traveling around the country. Her favorite destination they visited was Hawaii and she was able to go there twice.

Joanne was a loving and honest person. Her family meant everything to her and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for the people in her life. Joanne lived her life well, instilling love and support to the people around her. She will be missed by all the lives she touched.

Joanne was the beloved wife of Col. Larry L. Riley, U.S. Army Retired and the devoted mother of Patrick J. Riley of Nevada. She was the dear sister of John Graceffa and his wife Elaine of Norwell and the cherished aunt of Victoria R. Graceffa of Quincy. Joanne is also survived by many loving extended family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Friday, November 9th from 10-11AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, followed by a funeral service celebrated at 11AM.

Services will conclude with interment in Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline.
