St. George, Joanne E. (Martin), beloved wife of Ernest J. St. George of Hingham, died August 26, 2015 at the age of 85. 

Daughter of the late Harry J. and Josephine Martin of Needham. Mother of Martin J. St. George and his wife, Terese of New Canaan, CT. Grandmother of Caroline, Michael, and Elizabeth St. George also of New Canaan. She was predeceased by her sister Judith Tremblay of Florida. 

Joanne graduated from Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and from Emmanuel College in 1979. She began her career in 1950 at Boston Floating Hospital of New England Medical Center. After moving to Hingham in 1971, she worked at Braintree Rehabilitation for five years. She was a Rehabilitation Consultant for several years in the private sector and retired from Neighborhood Health Plan in 1998 as a Utilization Reviewer at Boston Medical Center. Following her retirement, she was a receptionist at Allerton House at Harbor Park in Hingham for 15 years, retiring in 2013. She is a past president of the Catholic Women’s Club of Hingham.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 6-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. A private burial will be held in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at a later date.
