Keohane Funeral Home

Owens, Joan F of Plymouth passed away peacefully on July 20, 2022. Born in Boston to the late Annabelle and Thomas Gillis, she was raised in South Boston and attended Boston schools. She was married to the late Thomas J. Owens for 57 years until his death in 2010. They began their life together in South Boston  before settling in on the South Shore, mostly in Weymouth and Norwell on the North River. She loved her idyllic views of the river and the myriad of birds and animals which graced their private oasis. She was an avid reader, loved all kinds of music, and was a talented artist.

She is survived by son Thomas E. Owens and Patricia Of Hanover and Kevin M. Owens and Suzanne of Plymouth. Her cherished sister Jean Scholl of Tewksbury , brother Thomas of Bangor, ME.  and her late sisters Ann and Mary. Her beloved grandchildren Katie, Joseph W., Kristen, Steven, Jennifer and Joseph M. And her great grandchildren Alex, Mia, Nolan, Audra, Calvin, and Mariah. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, July 28, 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, July 29 at 11 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
