Njiru, Jimmy R. of Hingham, formerly of Abington, died April 19, 2018 after battling cancer. He was 30.

Jimmy was a sports fan and enjoyed playing basketball in high school. He enjoyed reading and traveling to Kenya, as he was proud of his heritage. From a very young age Jimmy dreamed of flying and accomplished his life goal of becoming a pilot. Jimmy was a kind and happy man who made a friend of every person he met. He will be deeply missed.

Beloved son of Naomi and Paul Martel of Hingham. Cherished brother of Ryan Martel of Middleboro, Scott Martel of Hingham, Kyle Martel of Brockton, Renee Martel of Hingham and Lyla Martel of Hingham. Loving grandson of Rachel Njiru of Kenya and Dorothy Martel of Plympton.  Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, whom he was close to.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
