Jeremiah J. Donovan

Donovan, Jeremiah J. “Jerry” of Quincy, died January 30, 2018.

Jerry received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his master’s degree from Bentley College. He went on to become a mathematics and accounting professor at Boston State College, UMass Boston, and Suffolk University for over 47 years and was passionate and devoted to teaching his students. He and his wife volunteered for DSS Foster Children Department and Boston By Foot giving tours and history of Boston. He adored his family, gardening, keeping his yard meticulous, and was an avid reader. Jerry was also a die hard Red Sox and New England sports fan. He was passionate about his family, neighbors, students, and always put others before himself. He had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Loving son of the late Jeremiah and Mary (Nee) Donovan. Beloved husband of 49 years to the late Mary (Connelly) Donovan. Devoted father of Michael P. Donovan and his wife Joann of Peabody, Deirdre Page of Quincy and Peak’s Island, ME, and Maura Slawinski of Greenbush, ME. Loving brother of Mary McLaughlin and her late husband Joseph of Hanover, and the late Josephine Ring and her husband Donald. Loving “Shaan” of Scott Slawinski, Theresa Slawinski, and Ryan Donovan, Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral home service will be held Saturday at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
