Jennifer Anne “Jen” Murphy

Jennifer Anne Murphy of Weymouth, formerly of Braintree, died suddenly on November 2, 2022.  She was 54 years old.

Jen was born in St. Margaret’s Hospital in Boston on March 30, 1968.  Jen was the second child and only daughter to Eileen (Cardoza) Murphy of Weymouth and the late Neil Patrick Murphy.

Jen was raised in Braintree and attended the Braintree Public Schools.  She was a 1986 graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical High School with a concentration in Culinary Arts.  Jen held many jobs throughout the years, including over 20 years at Suffolk Superior Court, where she was still employed at the time of her death.  Jen loved being with her family, crafts and craft fairs, movies, Disney memorabilia, scratch tickets, her animals and gifting her friends and family homemade canvas art creations.  Jen was an extremely loving and giving person who despite her own challenges always found a way to spread kindness and make others feel special.

Jennifer was devoted to her family.  Besides her mother, who was Jen’s best friend, biggest cheerleader and strongest supporter, Jen leaves behind three loving brothers, William Murphy and his wife Jacqueline of Weymouth, Neil Murphy and his wife Meghan of Wrentham, and Joseph Murphy and his wife Danielle of Braintree. Jen was the loving aunt to William Murphy, Matthew Murphy, Mark Murphy, Samuel Murphy, Lucy Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Owen Murphy, and Hailey Murphy. Jen was the cherished niece of Jan Cardoza, Pat Shearman, Rita & William Murphy, and the late Susan McKenna.  Jen is also survived by many cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Winthrop Cemetery. Donations in Jennifer’s name can be made to the ARC of the South Shore.
