Jane M. (McGrath) Tracey

Jane M. (McGrath) Tracey, of Weymouth, predeceased by her husband and childhood sweetheart, Donald T. Tracey, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on October 27, 2018. Born to Leo and Mildred McGrath in Milton on May 22, 1935, Jane grew up in North Quincy with her sisters, Jean Moylan and Anne McNally, and her brother, Donald McGrath.  Jane graduated North Quincy High School and Quincy Vocational Tech with a degree in Practical Nursing.  Mom to Rick, and his wife, Dorene, of Plymouth, MA; Donnie, of Texas; Susan, and her husband, Steve, of Brookfield, CT; Glenn, and his wife, Michelle, of Plymouth, MA; and Kim, of Braintree, MA; Grandma Jane to Steve-o and his wife Laura; Kate, and her husband, Steve; Paul, and his wife, Kristen; Kyle, and his wife, Amanda; Samantha, and her husband, Drew; and, her youngest, Shea; GG to Bobby, Connor and, soon, Ainsley Jane; and a loyal and loving friend to countless others.

Jane was a spirited, fierce and special woman, with a mischievous smile, a quick wit and an infectious sense of humor.  She loved her family, her friends, her animals, her sports teams, her church and a good time, especially good conversation over good food.  She was proud of her family and friends, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She’ll be remembered for her games of rummy 500, walks at Great Esker park, throwing dinner rolls at the Thanksgiving table, treks to the beach with her bible in hand, breakfast burritos and sweet tea at the McDonald’s drive-thru, her Christmas ornaments and cousins’ outings, and the joy and laughter she brought to whoever she was with, and wherever she went.  She was a loving, caring, trustworthy and thoughtful daughter, sister, mom, grandma, GG, friend and confidant, and she will be missed dearly.  The streets of heaven are a bit more interesting today as Jane and Don, in between their bits of unique and funny banter, dance the night away once again.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in Fort Square Presbyterian Church,16 Pleasant Street, Quincy Ma, 02169. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church.
