James W. Hurley

James W. Hurley of Hingham, died December 5, 2017.

Jim lived in Neponset for many years before moving to Hingham. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his passion for history and politics, he graduated from Boston College and Boston College Law. He went on to have an accomplished career as a teacher for over 35 years with Boston Technical High School, currently known as John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science. Jim was a devoted family man and always valued the relationship he had with his siblings. He will be fiercely missed.

Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Mary G. (Burke) Hurley. Devoted father of Mary P. Hurley-Bea of Hingham, James Hurley and his husband Michael Ulisano of Seattle, WA, Katie Berube and her husband Daniel of Manchester, NH and  David Hurley of Hingham. Cherished grandfather of Richard T. Hurley-Bea. Loving brother of Rita Hurley of Boston, John Hurley of Melrose, Nancy Karis of Holliston, Judy Hurley of Boston, Elizabeth Connell of Southboro and the late Joseph, Arthur and Robert Hurley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
