James P. Maconochie

Maconochie, James P.  of Reading, died April 16, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was a seventh grade social studies teacher for 31 years at McCall Middle School in Winchester, after having taught for three years in Connecticut. Affectionately known as “Mr. Mac”, he also coached sports teams in Winchester, most notably the WHS Girls Softball team. He was a man of many interests, once saying the four most important things in his life were family, friends, fish and firewood. However, he found enjoyment in everything and everyone who crossed his path. Unable to stay idle in retirement, he followed his lifelong love of the Boston Red Sox working at Fenway Park for the past ten years. It was impossible for anyone to know what he liked best because he was always happy with whatever he was doing at the moment. He was a vibrant character and lived each day with passion, kindness, and love.

Beloved husband of  Rosemary (Corea). Loving father of James P. Maconochie, Jr. of Alaska, and Jenna-Marie McClintock and her husband, Dana, of Chatham, NJ. “Pa” to Kyle James McClintock and Owen Jeffrey McClintock. Brother of Mary F. Page and her husband, Steven, of Rhode Island, John W. Maconochie and his wife, Dolly, of Quincy, Richard J. Maconochie and his wife, Brenda, of North Carolina, and David L. Maconochie of Weymouth. Nephew of Gail Maconochie of W. Virginia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:45 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11:30 AM.
