Kelley, James P. “Jim” of Weymouth, died October 19, 2017.
Jim was born in Woburn to the late Edward and Mary Kelley. He attended Cathedral High School, Boston College and was a graduate of Newbury Jr. College. Jim was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served his country from 1957 to 1959. He worked for many years as a Telecommunications Technician at Verizon, Charter member of I.B.E.W. Local 2222, the Past Commander at the VFW and the Veterans Agent of Weymouth. He enjoyed sports, handball, boxing, swimming and spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of the late Kathleen A. (Doherty) Kelley. Loving Father of James P. Kelley of Weymouth, Kathleen A. Carlson of Rhode Island, Thomas M. Kelley of Weymouth, John D. Kelley of Weymouth, Maureen A. Haley of New York, Pauleen E. Imrie of Abington, Colleen E. Snow of Pembroke, Kerry A. Kral of Rockland, Edward E. Kelley of Charlestown, Jeanne M. Kelley of Abington and the late Patrick J. Kelley. Dear brother of Elizabeth Smith of Somerville, Edward Kelley Jr. of Shrewsbury, Eugene Kelley of Brookline, Thomas Kelley of Norfolk, Margaret Plansky of Reading, Maureen O’Malley of Roslindale also the late Mary DeGiacomo, Frank Kelley and Kathleen McCarthy. He was the proud Grampy of 14 grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
