James L. Navin

James Navin, of Hingham, died peacefully, on Thursday, May 19, 2022. He was 83.

Son of the late Laurence and Marie (Andersen) Navin. Jim was raised in Cambridge, attended local schools. He received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and his MBA from Anna Maria College.

After a distinguished career in health information systems Jim established his own firm, Navin Group, specializing in recruitment and health information systems consulting. He retired after twenty-five years of service to that community.

In his retirement Jim pursued that elusive low handicap playing golf at White Cliffs Country Club in Plymouth. On many occasions he remarked that those days were the happiest he has ever known. A great storyteller, all who knew him remembered Jim had an infectious laugh and a great sense of humor.

He was a good man whose family was all important to him.

He leaves his wife of 60 years Nancy (Doyle) of Hingham. He was the devoted father of MaryBeth N. D’Agostino of Greenwich, CT, J. Christopher Navin and his wife Noreen of NYC, Mark L. Navin and his wife Carol of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Peter A. Navin and his wife Elise of San Francisco, CA. Loving grandfather of Alexandra D’Agostino of Scituate, Jane D’Agostino of NYC, Polly D’Agostino of Greenwich, CT, Liam and Terence Navin, both of NYC, Jay, Will and Casey Navin, all of Saratoga Springs, NY, Charlotte and Maxwell Navin, both of San Francisco, CA, and the late Peter D’Agostino. Also survived by many loving extended Doylepalooza family and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2022, prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Cremation will follow. Interment is private.
