James Michael Walsh

James Michael Walsh of Weymouth, age 85, died May 23, 2015 at South Shore Hospital following a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. 

 Jim is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Marie (Tobin), three children and their spouses: Laura MacDougall and her husband Gary of Weymouth, Mary Lavigne and her husband Kevin of Plympton and Michael Walsh and his wife Katharine (Kababik) of SC. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Ryan, Colin and Julia MacDougall; Peter, Timothy and Nicole Lavigne; and Andrew and Hannah Walsh. Jim was a much beloved husband, dad and grampy and he will be dearly missed by all. 

He grew up in Dorchester, the middle son of the late John P. Walsh and Mary Bridget (Hart) Walsh Cammarata. He was predeceased by his older brother, John Walsh and is survived by John’s wife, Barbara (Johnson). He is also survived by his younger brother, David, and his wife Bessie. Jim was a much beloved brother, brother-in-law and uncle and will be missed by his extended family. 

Jim was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served stateside in Nevada and Arizona. By trade, Jim was a plumber and he worked for several Boston area plumbing firms before finishing his career with and retiring from the Boston Public Schools. Jim was also a Weymouth Farm League coach for many years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth, Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth at a later date.
