James Keenan

James Keenan of Weymouth, died April 18, 2017 with his family by his side.

Jim was born and raised in South Boston, after marrying the love of his life, Eleanor Freyer, they moved to Weymouth to raise their family. Jim worked for the Weymouth Fire Dept. as clerk for the Deputy Chief in 1977 and became Personal Confidential Secretary for the chief until 1983 before accepting the the position of Director of the Weymouth Retirement System and retiring in 2000. Jim was honorary brother of the fire department and belonged to the retired fire fighters breakfast club, he was a member of the Weymouth Elks, an active member in the Saint Jeromes Church and a member in the St. Jeromes Choir.

Beloved husband to Eleanor C. Keenan of Weymouth for 52 years. Loving father to MaryEllen Gallo and husband Chris of Hanover, Kathleen Zewiey and late husband Mark, Jennifer Miller and husband Kevin and James Kennan Jr., all of Weymouth. Treasured Grandpa of Joe, Kristen and Vanessa Gallo, Jordane, Destinee, Rachael, Tanya and Noah Zewiey and Janine and Brett Miller. Predeceased by his siblings Robert, Joe and Eddie Keenan. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street.

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.
