Ildeberto L. “Bert” Pereira of Weymouth, died December 3, 2018 at the age of 73.

Bert was born in Brava, Cape Verde, grew up in Dorchester and lived in Weymouth for over 40 years. He worked proudly for the City of Boston in several capacities, Most notably as a bilingual educator and administrator for the Boston Public School system. While raising his family in Weymouth, Bert enjoyed participating in activities with his sons including his leadership role in their Boy Scout troop, sharing their love for the outdoors. In his later years, Bert served as Justice of the Peace and presided on numerous weddings.

Beloved husband of Cynthia M. (DePina) Pereira for 47 years. Loving father of Michael D. Pereira and wife Amy of Waltham, David A. Pereira and wife Casey of Jacksonville, FL, and Jason T. Pereira and wife Johanna of Beacon, NY. Proud grandfather of Ryan, Zachary, Kendall, William, Maxwell, and Penelope Pereira. Brother of Silvia H. de Macedo and late husband Alceu of Plymouth, Arlete Mascarenhas and late husband Alberto of Brockton, Gisela Silverio and husband Guy of Brockton, Auta Hendler and husband Dr. Robert of Boca Raton, FL, Carlos A. Pereira and wife Edith of Mint Hill, NC, Viriato Pereira and wife Nancy of Cape Cod and FL and the late Livio and Maria Filomena Pereira. Brother in law of Carri Messina and husband John of Revere and Henry DePina and wife Marie of Fairhaven. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
