Gail Ann (Welby) Condon

Gail Ann (Welby) Condon of Hanover, and formerly of Peabody, passed away peacefully at her home, with family by her side, on Saturday, November 10, 2018.  Gail fought a courageous battle with COPD and Kidney failure. She was 75.

Gail was born on March 26, 1943, in Boston at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She was raised in South Boston and was the daughter of the late John F. and Eileen C. (Fitzgerald) Welby. Gail graduated from high school in 1961, then went right to work and enjoyed serving in her community. Gail enjoyed her time spent working at Fidelity Investments.

Gail enjoyed lunches and movies with her friends, reading and traveling. She especially loved her trips to Las Vegas with family and friends playing video poker and appreciated all the support she received from Cardinal Cushing residents.

Gail was a loving, kind, strong willed, proud Irish Catholic woman who lived her life in accordance with the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love.  Her family and friends were important to her and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for the people in her life.  She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.

Gail was the beloved wife of the late William H. “Bill” Condon, who passed away in 1998. Together they shared many years of loving marriage. She was the devoted mother of Karen L. Ensley and her husband Alan of Fletcher, North Carolina, and Kempton F. Shipman and his wife Lorraine of Port Charlotte, Florida. Gail was the loving grandmother of Kempton F. Shipman, Jr., Travis A. Shipman, Codey L. Shipman, all of Port Charlotte, Florida and Maverick N. Ensley of Fletcher, North Carolina. She is also survived by many loving and devoted nieces, nephews and extended family members and dear friends. Gail was preceded in death by her brothers Jack, Kevin and Edward Welby.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 16th from 4 through 8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17th at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove Street, LYNNFIELD. Guests are invited to gather at the church. There will not be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday morning.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Services will conclude with interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
