Gabriel R. “Bob” Maimaron

Gabriel R. “Bob” Maimaron, 85, a 60 year resident of Quincy, passed away Friday afternoon, December 21, 2018.

Born in Dorchester, he was a son of the late Brandy Simon Maimaron and Alice Mary (Gagnon). Bob was raised in Abington and was a 1951 graduate of Abington High School. Bob was a Korean War United States Air Force veteran and a longtime member of Ironworker’s Local 7 in Boston. He was a member of the McKeon Post, Morrisette Post, the Quincy Elks and the Duxbury American Legion. Bob’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandsons. He was a longtime Quincy Youth Baseball and Hockey coach, and was a sideline fixture at  Duxbury High School football games.

Bob was the beloved husband of 44 years of the late Barbara A. (Canavan), and the devoted father of Mark A. Maimaron and his wife Anne of Raynham, David J. Maimaron and his wife Colleen of Duxbury, the late Nancy M. and Robert M. Maimaron, and a special friend to Chris Bronchuk. He was the brother of Ruthie Mariano of Braintree, Virginia Rowan of Middleboro, William Maimaron of Weymouth, and the late Leo St. Jean, Jean Dexter, Thomas Maimaron, Eleanor Lemond, and Lorraine Hill. Bob was the proud grandfather of Bobby, Tiernan, Michael, and Joseph Maimaron. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home,785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
