G. Lowell Marks, Jr.

G. Lowell Marks, Jr. of Weymouth, died March 30, 2015 at the age of 89.

Lowell was born in RI and raised in North Quincy. During WWII, he served as a mechanic in the U.S. Army stationed in Europe. After graduating from Northeastern with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Lowell went to work for Boston Edison, retiring after 40 years as Manager of Engineering and Construction. Lowell enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Squantum Yacht Club. Lowell’s family was the focus of his life and he devoted himself to caring for others.

Beloved husband of 25 years to Joan (Beaudoin) Marks and for 33 years to the late Marjorie (O’Hearn) Marks. Loving father of Susan Marks & Dorinda Burlin of Marshfield; Steve Marks of Quincy, Edward & Patricia Marks; Robert Marks & Linda Sorrentino; Nancy Marks & Tom Kral, all of Weymouth; Laura & Richard Demary of Chelmsford; Annmarie & Jeff Volpe of Pittsfield, NH; Jeffrey Marks & Patty Baxter of Weymouth; Andrew & Marguerite Marks of Pittsburgh, PA; and Jennifer & George Kelley of Weymouth. Stepfather of Gerard & Suellen Beaudoin of Weymouth; Mary & Paul Cordeiro of Abington; Thomas Beaudoin of Quincy; and Margaret “Peg” & William Morin of Hanover. Brother of Robert & Geraldine Marks of Baton Rouge, LA; and Carolyn Marks of Quincy. Also lovingly survived by 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the funeral service in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10 AM.
