Veteran

Francis W. “Frank” Symonds

Francis W. Symonds, Frank, born December 24, 1947 passed peacefully on February 4th into the loving arms of our Lord and our Mom and Dad. His good friend John and his beloved dog Lucy were by his side.

Frank was an Army veteran and welder by trade. As the only son, he had a special love for our Mom and Dad. He was of great comfort to our Mom during her years with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was with our Dad almost every day when he moved to assisted living. After our Dad passed at his small assisted living home, Frank took a job there as the Sunday church bus driver. Every Sunday for four years for their ride home he would treat the ladies to their favorite donut or pastry from a little specialty shop in town. It made them feel special and he loved that. He was a proud friend of Bill W. and a mentor to anyone in need. At 6’4″ he was a big guy with a big heart and big hugs. We will miss him.

Frank is survived by his three sisters Mary, Anne and Patty. Also survived by nieces Mishell and her husband Tony and Courtney, nephews Charles and his wife Lauren, Kyle and his father Norman and his wife Felicia. Survived by grand niece Scarlett and grand nephews Rocco, Andrew and Dominick.

Our love and gratitude to his friends, both in Massachusetts and California. You enriched our brothers life with your friendship. Thank you to the medical personnel for the wonderful care and comfort our brother received. Thank you to Joe, Carolyn, Alyssa and the Keohane Family and to Elizabeth White for making our goodbye a little easier. God bless all of you.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 7 PM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
