Evelyn E. Rocha

Evelyn E. Rocha, of Brockton, formerly from Quincy and Dorchester, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020. She was 87. 

Evelyn was born and raised in Onset.  Beloved sister of Gerald Rocha of Brockton, Shirley Fonseca of Quincy, Robert Rocha of Florida and the late David Rocha, Sr. of Quincy and JoAnne Carey of Randolph.  Daughter of the late Mary (Ma/Buzine) Olivera and Frank Rocha.  Loving Godmother of Edward Fonseca, Jr., Michelle D’Antuony and Frank Rocha.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews and even more great nieces and nephews.

Evie’s family was a center part of her life especially her brother Gerry.  Evie loved family gatherings especially in Cape Cod because; she enjoyed the food, family and all the love around her.  Evie was always trying to rescue someone in a time of need and family started calling her “Rambo Eve.”  She helped raise her nieces and nephews by babysitting and play games with them.  Always in the kitchen helping her mother making sure everyone was all fed.  She loved watching Soup Opra’s and game shows.  At family functions Evie shocked her family, by having a beer and getting onto the dance floor.  She was always there if anyone needed a lending hand or an ear to listen.  She will be greatly missed.
