McKenna, Elizabeth M. (Murphy) of Hingham, died April 9, 2019.

Beloved wife of the late Matthew J. McKenna, Sr. Loving mother of John T. McKenna and Elizabeth M. McKenna both of Nyack, NY, James M. McKenna and his wife, Susan, of Essex, Mary-Anne McKenna and her partner, Nick Cefalu of Quincy, and Matthew J. McKenna, Jr of Hull. Sister of the late James J. Murphy. Grandmother of Maeve and her husband, Matthew Gallivan, Owen, Kevin, Matthew, and Eamon McKenna. 

A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, Elizabeth was also a skilled tap dancer who appeared in numerous Broadway shows. She was an avid still-life painter and gardening enthusiast. Her love of travel took her to countries throughout Europe, and she passed on her love of travel and the creative arts to her children and grandchildren.  Most importantly, Elizabeth was a wonderful mother and faithful Roman Catholic, and was known to close conversations with her children encouraging them to always, “Keep the Faith.” 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday, April 11, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Friday, April 12th, prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Chapel, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to Saint Paul’s School, 18 Fearing Road Hingham MA, 02043.
