Eileen Murphy

Hanora “Eileen” Murphy, age 87, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on June 26, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Kenneth Francis Murphy, a noted Weymouth contractor. She is survived by her children; Nancy Lewis and her husband Brian of Weymouth, daughter Patricia of Weymouth, son Kenneth and his wife Lynn of Hanover, son John and his wife Tracy of Halifax, and son Wayne Cooney and wife Hiroko of Las Vegas. She was a loving Nana to Kelley Lewis, Stephanie Silva and her husband Peter, Paul Murphy, Michael Cooney, Jake and Joshua Murphy and Conor, Kate and Riley Murphy. She was a great-grandmother, “Super Nana” to Samantha Silva.

Born on August 23, 1929, Eileen lived her entire life in Weymouth where she proudly raised her family. She was a 1947 graduate of Weymouth High School and served on the reunion committee up to her sixty fifth reunion. She was a member of the Weymouth Tennis Club and played tennis well into her 70’s.

Kind, generous and loving, she was a friend to many and the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM.

Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
