Horvitz, Dorris (Alkon) of Hull, formerly of Largo, FL and Stoughton, died November 24, 2015. 

Dorris lived a remarkable life and was truly grateful for all her blessings.  Among them was her devoted husband Howard and they have celebrated 71 years of marriage.  Time spent with family was most important to Dorris and the family has beautiful memories of spending the summer together in Maine while they were home from Florida.  This was a 28 year tradition that enriched the grandchildren with memories for a lifetime.  While in Florida, she worked as a bank teller and hospice volunteer.  Mrs. Horvitz enjoyed the outdoors, walks on the beach, fishing with her husband, reading, traveling and her cooking skills were beyond measure.  She will be remembered for her loving and caring example which continues to influence another generation.  Beloved wife of Howard Horvitz of Hull.  Loving mother of Janice Feinberg and Eileen DeFilippis and her husband Richard; all of Hull.  Loving sister of the late Harold Alkon. Cherished “Grandma” to Tom, Rachel, Debbie, Eric, and great grandmother to Shane. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday at 9:45 AM at MA National Cemetery in Bourne.
