Dorothy A. Murphy (McGowan), 82 of Whitman, formerly of Quincy and Mission Hill in Boston, passed away peacefully, June 17, 2017 surrounded by her children.

Beloved wife of the late William P. Murphy. Cherished mother of Nancy Murphy McDonough of Whitman, Denise Quattrochi and her husband Douglas of Manchester, NH., William P. Murphy Jr. of Rockland, Paul J. Murphy of Whitman, and sister T. Alice Maloney of Maryland.  She was the loving grandmother of Michael Murphy from Quincy, the light of her life. Also survived by Kristen Chaput of Quincy, and Kyle and Colin Murphy from Braintree. Dottie was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and B. Theresa (Foley) McGowan and was predeceased by her siblings Thomas, Margaret, Mary, and James. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews, childhood friends and the HS’s.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 12:30 PM.

Interment will be private.
