Diana C. “Dee” Coughlin

Diana (Crumb) Coughlin, 80, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022 after a period of failing health.

Born in Lexington on Nov. 12, 1941, Diana “Dee” was the daughter of the late Dr. Harold J. Crumb and Gladys E. (Mugridge) Crumb, also of Lexington. Dee was a graduate of Lexington High School where she regaled crowds with her baton twirling abilities as Head Majorette. Those who knew Dee will best recall her constant smile, kind heart, positive energy and genuine desire to make other people happy.

Dee’s attention to detail, creative qualities and professionalism were exceptional, and took her from managing the medical records of her father who was the oldest practicing General Practitioner in Lexington until the day he died, as well as the LHS football team physician for 47 years, all the way to serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of Partners Healthcare, Inc., where she spent the majority of her professional career. Within that time span, Dee worked as an administrative assistant to top administration at Symmes Hospital, Winchester Hospital, Jordan Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital, prior to her long-time position with the president of Partners Healthcare at the Prudential Center in Boston. Dee’s impeccable planning skills, gracious hospitality, exceptional multi-tasking abilities and extraordinary work ethic characterized her as the consummate professional and someone everyone wanted to work with.

Dee was an avid gardener, decorator, crafter and cook, and spent endless hours beautifying her surroundings and making the favorite meals of her friends and family. She went out of her way daily, to bring a smile to the faces of the people she knew, in whatever creative and special way she could. Whether it was making weekly cookies for the postman or creating amazing flower gardens at her condominium complex, everyone knew and appreciated Dee Coughlin.

Dee is predeceased by her ex-husband and long-time friend Kenneth J. Coughlin, and her ex-husband Richard L. Bloom. She is survived by her children, Caralie (Coughlin) Ford, and Kristin (Coughlin) Alexander, her step-daughters, Jamie Bloom (Magda), Debra (Bloom) O’Connor (Michael) and Wendy (Bloom) Kelly (Daniel) and will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Kelsey Ford Lamon (Matthew), Kerrin and Gregory Ford, Dylan and Kelly Alexander, Brendan, Jenna, William and Carolyn Kelly, Tracey O’Connor (Corey), Shannon (O’Connor) Caulfield (Brendan) and her great-grandchildren Ford Lamon and Carson Caulfield, as well as many friends, extended family and co-workers.

Dee’s family wants to thank all of the hardworking individuals at Brigham & Women’s Hospital for the tremendous care that they gave.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit the family before and after the memorial service on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital), Weymouth.
