Mortimer, David M. of Abington, passed away April 29, 2022. David was born in Quincy to the late Sarah and James Mortimer. He attended Braintree High School and was a proud WWII Army veteran. David worked for many years as an iron worker for Local 501 and retired as business manager. He was also a member of the Rockland VFW Post 1788. David enjoyed and followed baseball and was a big Boston Red Sox fan.
Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Margaret “Peg” Mortimer. Loving mother of David M. Mortimer and his wife Nancy of South Carolina, Daniel M. Mortimer and his wife Jean of New Hampshire, Dianne M. O’Neill of South Boston and James F. Mortimer, Joseph P. Mortimer and his wife Cathy, Ronald K. Mortimer and his wife Carol and John W. Mortimer all of Abington. Proud Grandpa of 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Joyce Talbot-McCurdy, Sally Morse and the late William Mortimer, James Mortimer, June Pratt and Brian Mortimer. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
