Dana J. Waldecker of Brockton, formerly of Braintree died September 7, 2017 at the age of 67 surrounded by loved ones.

He cherished spending time with family and cooking for special occasions. Dana was known for his sense of humor, willingness to help others, and being a great friend and father. He worked as a self employed house painter and previously worked in the restaurant industry, including owning his own restaurant Deckers of Duxbury, MA. When he wasn’t working or creating his own recipes he enjoyed taking long walks outside, listening to music, trying new restaurants, reading, and watching sports.

He is the loving father of Tyler J. Waldecker of Hingham and Jaime N. Waldecker of South Boston, former husband of Karen Waldecker, and the brother of Peter Waldecker and Sandy Panenka, both of South Portland, ME. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 5-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Donations in memory of Dana may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
