Concetta D. Sciaraffa

Concetta D. Sciaraffa (Mangiaratti) of Rockland, died February 2, 2017 at the age of 94.

Connie was one of the great “stay at home moms” of the 50s; that old fashioned comfort you feel knowing that someone is always home.  Only later on she would go out to work at Hit or Miss where she was employed for 15 years in the home office. Connie was an expert knitter and loved all her pals in her knitting group that met every Tuesday at the Abington Senior Center.  All of them were so kind and helpful to her, even when she bossed them around.

Connie also loved her beloved staff at the South Shore Nursing Home in Rockland, where she would “hold court” every night at the nurse’s station.  Their kindness and care for her made it possible for Connie to be happy there and make it her home.  She also leaves behind her beautiful roommate, Arlene Cevatto, who made her transition there easy for her.  They loved each other and were best friends.  Attached at the hip making sure each other was ok all the time.

Her role as grandmother and great grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life.  She was always so proud of her grand and great grandkids.  They loved her mac and cheese and meatballs, who wouldn’t!

Wife of the late Michael Sciaraffa. Loving mother of Joanne S. Bailey and husband Brad of Rockland, Michael Sciaraffa and wife Vicki of Brockton, and Paul Sciaraffa of Avon. Sister of Mary Boudreau of Dorchester and the late John M. Mangiaratti. Grandmother of John, Sam, Elijah and the late Michael and the late Andrew. Great grandmother of Jailei and Jade. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 3-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Friends will gather on Tuesday in the parking lot of Holy Family Church in Rockland (to organize procession to St. Michael’s Cemetery in Avon) prior to the Mass at 11 AM which will be celebrated for both Concetta and her brother John. Donations in memory of Concetta may be made to the N.E. Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court St., Boston, MA 02108.
