Claire R. O’Brien

Claire R. (Stravinsky) O’Brien of Hingham, died on June 24, 2019 after a brief illness. The beloved wife of 58 years to Robertl B. O’Brien, Sr.of Hingham. Loving mother of Robert B. O’Brien, Jr and his wife Edith of Gilmanton, NH and Paul O’Brien and his wife Gretchen of Kingston. Sister of Alice Nee of South Boston, Terese Stravinsky of Boston and the late Anne Taylor, Mary Hurley, Patricia Madden, Joan Stravinsky and Joe Stravinsky. Nome of Jennifer O’Brien, Christina Mancuso and Carina Norberg of Sweden. Claire is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Claire was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Thornton) Stravinsky. She grew up in South Boston, where she started her love of swimming. Claire was a master swimmer, throughout her life she traveled the world winning many gold medals for her outstanding swimming ability. The foundation of her life was her family, they were the cornerstone of all that was truly important to her. Claire will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.

Relatives are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Friday June 28 from 11:30-12:30 in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.

A Celebration of Life Service will begin on Friday at 12:30pm in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, Hingham.

Burial in High Street Cemetery, Hingham.
