Cheryl A. (Sparrow) Hopkins of Weymouth, originally from South Boston, died peacefully from a brief illness with her loving family by her side on March 6, 2023.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and her family was most important to her in life. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods, Cape Cod, and the beach.

She was the daughter of the late Mary and Gerald Sparrow, Sr. Beloved wife of James W. Hopkins. Loving mother of Sheriann Devine and Dan of Maine; James Hopkins and Tracey of Eutawville, SC; and Susan Bowker and Neal of Weymouth. Proud “Grammy” of Megan Howe, Breanna Bowker, Ashley, Shawn, Evan, and Sydney Hopkins; and great grandchildren Kadin Hopkins, Willow, and Wesley Howe. Sister of Jack McDonough of Taunton; Gerald Sparrow, Jr. of South Boston; Paul Sparrow of FL; Maryellen Sparrow of FL; and the late Daniel Sparrow. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 3/13 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday 3/14 at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
