Collyer, Charles A., Jr. “Bud” of Quincy, formerly of Dorchester, died April 13, 2015.
Bud proudly served in the United States Navy during Korea. He served together with his four brothers on the USS Allagash. He was the oldest and longest member of the Penny Post 399. Bud was a devoted employee of the MBTA as a bus driver for 23 years and won the Safe Driver of the Year award for several years. He enjoyed taking cruises and ship reunions with his fellow veterans. Bud will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Irene (Lojek) Collyer of Quincy. Devoted father of Patricia Collyer and her partner Charlie Barbato of Allston, Linda Mardeusz and her husband Daniel of Scituate, and Robert Collyer and his wife Karen of Quincy. Loving brother of Ruth Schadwald of Rockland, Edith Ferguson of VA, Joan Gillis of FL, Nancy Carle of Bridgewater, and the late Carlton, Thomas, Owen “Tim”, and Robert Collyer and Miriam Ferwerda. Cherished “Papa” of Christopher Collyer, Julia Mardeusz, Elizabeth Mardeusz, and Beckett Collyer.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 5-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
