Keohane Funeral Home

Catherine M. Nichols (Marchetti) of Hingham, formerly of Hull, Weymouth and Rockland, died January 19, 2017 at the age of 81.

Catherine was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended B.C. School of Nursing. For many years she worked at South Shore Hospital and was an active parishioner at the Church of the Resurrection in Hingham. For the last 10 years she was a resident of Linden Ponds in Hingham where she greatly enjoyed the community and spending time with friends. Most importantly, Catherine’s focus in life was her family. 

Wife of the late John Nichols. Loving mother of Dr. Robert McCarthy and wife Maureen of Glastonbury, CT, Diane Loreth of Braintree, Dominique Lounge of Abington and Joseph Viola and wife Christina of Bedford, NH. Loving sister of James Marchetti and wife Susan Shephard of Wellesley and the late John Marchetti and his wife Janice of Scituate. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she stayed close with.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 5-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 11:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main Street, Hingham at Noon. Burial in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
