Carol Ann (Marchitelli) Dunphy of South Yarmouth, formerly of Hingham, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October, 15th 2020 at the age of 72. She was the beloved wife of 50 years to Robert Dunphy; loving mother to her son Robert Dunphy, Jr. of South Yarmouth and daughter Keri Fabrizio and husband Anthony of Hingham; cherished grandmother to Abby Dunphy and Anthony, Taylor and Kaylie Fabrizio.   Carol was born on December 17, 1947 to the late Gerald and Ruth Marchitelli of Quincy and was loved by her late sister, Ruth Garvey and husband Jack Garvey of Braintree and late brother Gerald Marchitelli, Jr. and wife Denise Marchitelli of South Yarmouth and South Boston. Carol grew up in Quincy and graduated from the Woodward School. She married her husband Bob at the Neighborhood Club in Quincy in 1970 and spent the first thirteen years residing in Hanover before moving to Hingham and then settling on the Bass River in South Yarmouth. While living in Hingham, Carol was actively involved in the Garden Club and thoroughly enjoyed designing and decorating the annual Christmas wreaths. She had an inherent vision and talent for creativity and design. For the past 20 plus years, Carol worked closely with her husband Bob designing homes for their family owned residential custom home building business. Carol loved being surrounded by her immediate family, along with her extended family of nieces and nephews and their children as well. She adored her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events.  She especially looked forward to her summers on the Bass River, Cape Cod when she would be surrounded by her entire family and lots of activity, including cookouts, golf cart rides, trips to the beach and boating. She will be greatly missed by so many.

A private funeral service will be held at Keohane Funeral Home in Quincy on Saturday, October, 24th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to support the doctors and nurses in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Neuro ICU by way of the BWH patient care service fund.
