Brian J. Flaherty

Flaherty, Brian J. of Braintree, died unexpectedly on June 14, 2017.

Brian was born in Quincy to the late Robert and Catherine Flaherty. Brian was a 1978 graduate  of Braintree High School, graduated from East Coast Aero Tech as a licensed Air Frame and Power Plant Technician and continued his education at Wentworth Technical Institute with a certification in  Fundamental Electronics for Aircraft Technician. Brian worked for General Electric in Lynn, MA as a Production Test and Inspection technician for aircraft engines for commercial and military use. He returned to school and earned his Bachelors Degree at Emmanuel College in Business Administration. Brian was employed at Interpolymer Corporation in Canton MA as a Chemist and Reactor Operator. In 2001 Brian received a Kidney-Pancreas transplant at Ohio State University and was proud to return to work six weeks later. Brian was currently employed at Twin Rivers Technologies in Quincy, MA. Brian loved his work but most of all the camaraderie of his fellow workers. Brian was very loyal to his family and friends but especially to his disabled sister Peggy. Brian loved to cook, he enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling, he loved car rides along the ocean, and long walks with his buddy Max.

Brian leaves behind his longtime best friend of Laurie A. Pasakarnis, his sisters, Margaret Flaherty of Weymouth, Patricia McMahon of Braintree, and Kathryn White  of Weymouth and her husband John.  He is predeceased by his brother Kevin Flaherty. Loving uncle of Michelle McMahon, Meghan Flaherty, Sean White and Bridget White.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
