Bartolo “Buddy” Panto

Panto, Bartolo “Buddy” of Quincy, died peacefully, surrounded by his family February 5, 2016 following a 6 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Buddy retired from AA Wills where he worked for many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a proud member of Local 4 for 50 years.  Buddy enjoyed gardening, puzzles and was an avid Boston sports fan.  He also found enjoyment in carpentry and was always the first one willing to help and fix anything.  Buddy’s main passion in life was his family whom he loved more than anything including his cat “his baby” Bruschi whom he loved to the moon.  He will be sadly missed.

Beloved husband of 58 years Jean Panto (Thebado) of Quincy.  Loving father of Donna Lawrence and her husband Michael of Marshfield, Debbie Conners and her husband Paul of Weymouth and Michael Panto and his wife Wendy of Brockton. Devoted grandfather of Matthew and his wife Tina, Jill, Christopher and his wife Nicole, Jenna, Eric and his wife Colleen, Kristen, Courtney, Sarah, and Michael.  Great grandfather of Arianna, Kayden, Gianna and Riley.  Caring brother of Angelo Panto and the late Charles Panto.  Predeceased by his mother and father Candeloro and Pauline Panto.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to Dr. Dasilva and the South Suburban Dialysis Center, along with Dr. Kwak and Dr. Wo in the Oncology Department at MGH for their outstanding care shown to Buddy these past few months.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, Buddy’s family would appreciate blood donations made to the American Red Cross in honor of the blood received by Buddy these past 6 weeks.  Donations may also be made to the Mass General Hospital Cancer Center at www.massgeneral.org/cancer if preferred.
