Barbara A. Harris

Harris, Barbara A. (Polito) of Hingham, formerly of Cohasset, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2019.

Barbara’s passion was her family, and she adored being a part of their everyday lives.  Barbara (or Barbie as she loved to be referred to) was very proud of the accomplishments of her family and was the consistent cheerleader in they did. Her life with her husband Eddie was always a major source of happiness for her and she would often tell stories of the life they built together.  She loved to watch the Boston Bruins, WWE Wrestling, and game shows and loved talking about these things with her grandchildren Stephen and Ashley.  She loved her grandchildren’s pets and was always so caring and loving with them often sharing her time and food with them.  In recent years with the birth of her great granddaughter Molly, she loved spending time with her and would often have her day brightened by Molly’s big smile and was entertained by Molly’s “Big Stories”.  For years she attended Bingo with her daughter Susie and would love the time she got to spend there. She loved going to Annette’s hair salon and was always so concerned that her hair was not in the perfect condition that Annette left it in.  Her personality and her thoughtful nature will be missed by all who loved her as will be her helpful advice and willingness to always be there for you in your time of need.

Beloved wife of the late Edward S. Harris.  Loving mother of the late Susan J. Mills.  Mother-in-law of James D. Mills of Hull.  Devoted sister of Antoinette King, Ann Luker, William Polito, and predeceased by 7 brothers & sisters.  Cherished Nanny to Stephen J. Mills and his wife Amy of Holbrook, and Ashley J. Mills and her fiancé Josh White of NH.  Loving great grandmother to Molly Mills.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 8:30-9:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Funeral Mass will follow in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM.  Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
