Ann Marie “Nancy” Duggan

Duggan, Ann Marie “Nancy” (Flaherty) of Hull originally from Dorchester, died unexpectedly on Sept. 30, 2015, she was 80.

The beloved wife of 55 years to Matthew Duggan of Hull. She was the cherished mother of Matthew J. Duggan of Hull and devoted grandmother of Matthew J. Duggan, Jr. Jacqueline Gouthro and Dillon Kelly all of Dorchester. Great grandmother of Braden and Lucas. Daughter of the late Patrick and Agnes J. ( Connolly) Flaherty.

Nancy was born in Boston and raised in Savin Hill,  Dorchester, she graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls Class of 1953 and then attended Massachusetts Teachers College. Her childhood was rich with family love and strong Irish traditions, which would later become the foundation of all that was truly important to her.  On May 8, 1956 Nancy was assigned to the very first Bookmobile, as an avid reader, this was a position she was very proud of.  Her working career included 32 years at the South Postal Annex and many years as a Real Estate agent for Century 21 selling real estate in South Boston and Hull. In her spare time  she enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards, the Red Sox, Irish music  and the beach. She had a passion for cars and enjoyed many car shows and taking long car rides with her family. She was a great supporter for Fr. Tom Burke’s Hurling Club in Boston. There was always a very special place in her heart for animals, especially cats more recently Mr. Vanderbilt. Nancy found pleasure in the simple things in life, her faith, her family and vanilla milkshakes. The cornerstone of her life was her family they were all that was truly important to her – she was the Matriarch of the Duggan Clan. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend who brought grace and style to the many lives she touched, so characteristically of the way she lived her life.  She will be sadly missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday  4-8pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street WOLLASTON.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 9:15am in the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy on Friday at 10am.

Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.  Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the Hull Seaside Animal Rescue, 487 Nantasket Ave., Hull, MA. 02045.
