Alfred J. Ferrisi

Mr. Alfred J. Ferrisi, of Plymouth, formerly of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 5, 2024. He was 73.

Born in Weymouth, a son of the late Alfred and Phyllis Ferrisi, he had lived in Weymouth for many years, before settling down to raise his family in Plymouth.

Al worked for many years as an accountant with Tedeschi Food Shops. While he had a knack for numbers and taxes, he will forever be remembered for his unique passion – novelty songs of the 50s and 60s.

His fondness for songs like Sheb Wooley’s “The Purple People Eater” and Brian Hyland’s “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polkadot Bikini” became a colorful, cherished part of his personality.

Al’s legacy doesn’t stop at his “taste” in music, though. His family-famous lasagna, a staple of nearly every holiday and family gathering, was not only culinary magic, but a symbol of his love and care for his family and friends.

However, it was as a grandfather where Al’s true joy and playfulness flourished. When with his grandkids, Al found his purpose, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and affection.

Beloved husband of Maureen (Sullivan) Ferrisi.

Loving father of Amanda Porter and her husband, David, of Willow Spring, NC, Greg Ferrisi and his wife, Dawn, of Attleboro, Jonathan Ferrisi of Plymouth, and Alison Irving and her husband, Bryan, of Burbank, CA. Brother of Joanne Davenport and her husband, John, of Florida, Diane Weed and her late husband, Jack, of Florida, Steven Ferrisi and his partner Joanne Fennell, of Agawam, and Sandra Kilroy of Florida. Grandfather of Alexander, Christopher, Nicholas, Emma, Drew, Conor, and Abigail. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
