DeBruin, Yvonne M. (Meyers) of Hingham, died March 16, 2009 at home with her family. Beloved wife of Richard W. “Dick” DeBruin. Loving mother of Richard W. “Rick”, Jr. & wife Michelle of Augusta, ME, Peter B. & wife Donna of Bridgewater and David F. & wife Margaret of South Boston. Sister of Ray Meyers of Palatine, IL and Lorraine Meyers of AZ. Devoted “Grammie” to Dan, Liz, Michael, Emily, Jonas, and Ruby. Yvonne is also survived by her special niece Peggy Hasketh & husband Wally of St. Paul, MN and many nieces & nephews. Yvonne was born in Chicago, IL, to Charles & Helen Meyers and attended Northern Illinois Teacher’s College. She worked as a first grade teacher, and married Richard DeBruin June 25, 1955. After the birth of their first son, Yvonne became a full time mother and housekeeper for the next 18 years. In later years, she was a Master Teacher for the religious education program at St. Paul’s Catholic School, and worked at Talbot’s in the accounting department. Most recently, she was a volunteer with the Hingham Public Library. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Hingham Mother’s Club, the PM Club of Hingham, and the Hingham Book Club. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM, Saturday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM. Burial in Saint Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham. Donations in Yvonne’s memory may be made to Norwell Visiting Nurses Assoc., 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
