Yazmin Badias Fadjo, 55, of Quincy MA, passed away far too young holding the hands of her loving family after a long, hard battle with MS and cancer on June 8, 2022.
Yazmin was born in San Juan Puerto Rico on August 7th to Carmen Vila (deceased) of Puerto Rico and Carlos Badias II (deceased) of Cuba. Yazmin was a self-proclaimed ‘Cuba Rican’ which contributed to her spicy personality. She put herself through college while raising her three girls. Her ambition led her to starting her own food brokerage company before opening her own restaurant, Café Madrid. After she retired from the food industry, she moved on to real estate development and continued this passion until her premature death. Yazmin is survived by her 3 brothers – Carlos Badias III of CA, Alexander Rivera of IL, and Bobby Cannavale of NY.
The first thing everyone says when describing her is what an incredible mom and ‘Wawa’ she was. As a recipient of that love, we can tell you, she was devoted beyond measure. We are so incredibly lucky to have had her in our lives. Without her, day to day life will never quite be the same and the house will forever feel empty. When she wasn’t bragging about her daughters or grandkids, Yazmin was often spoiling those she cared about or ordering too much food for the table. She was as generous as she was passionate. She loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace.
Yazmin leaves behind her heart and soul with her 3 children. Her favorite daughter Erica (Fletcher) Shea, son in law David Shea, and grandson Ryder of Easton. Her other favorite daughter Samantha Fletcher, grandson Mason, and granddaughter Riley of Quincy. Finally, her other favorite daughter Stephanie Fletcher and granddaughter Luna of Madrid, Spain.
Her loving and dedicated husband of 17 years, Dr. Larry Fadjo spent their entire marriage making sure all of her dreams came true, no matter how extravagant they were. He has 7 children Damon, Vanessa, Adrienne, Cameron, Travis, Maxwell and Mariah.
Even when ill, she never wanted those around her to know she was suffering. While her life was too short, those of us who were blessed to be a part of it, understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts far exceed the quantity of time that she stayed. We are proud to have been able to call Yazmin our mom, our Wawa, our wife, and our friend. We love you more.
Her desire was a Celebration of Life for her friends and family. In lieu of flowers please do as Yazmin would do and give to others, send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
