Winnie (Doherty) Marron

Winnie (Doherty) Marron of Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 16, 2024. She was 93.

Born in Boston, Winnie lived in Dorchester for many years before settling in Weymouth. She worked for many years for Verizon as a secretary. She was a parishioner at Saint Peter’s Church in Dorchester. Winnie loved everything Irish including Irish entertainment, Irish dances and going to the Irish Village in Hyannis many times. She also enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.

The cornerstone of her life was her beloved family, and just enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed very much by all those that knew and loved her.

Loving daughter of the late Cornelius and Mary Doherty of Donegal, Ireland.

Beloved wife of the late James J. Marron.

Loving mother of James M. Marron and his wife, Cathie, of Sylvania, Ohio, Patricia A. Rogers, Mark S. Marron and his wife, Judith, and Nancy B. Solimine all of Braintree. 

Sister of the late Catherine Connolly and Billy Doherty.

Grandmother of Caitlin, Lauren, Andrew, Mark, Lindsay, James, Jessie, Anna, Jennifer, Emily, Michael, and Jonathan. Great Grandmother of Olivia, Edward, and Nora. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday, July 20th from 10-11 AM in Saint Clare Church, 1244 Liberty Street Braintree followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM. 

Burial will be private on Monday, July 22nd at MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
