Wilma H. (Murphy) Dempsey

Mrs. Wilma H. (Murphy) Dempsey, of Weymouth, passed on April 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Burlington, Vermont, a daughter of the late William and Emily (Genett) Murphy, she always cherished the wonderful memories she had in Vermont especially being a graduate of University of Vermont. Wilma enjoyed reading, cooking, tennis, golf, and bowling. She and her husband, William were very active with the Weymouth Food Pantry and also at Immaculate Conception Church. The greatest joy in her life was her family, but most importantanly were her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending many happy times with them, and in return, they did as well. Beloved wife of William A. Dempsey, Jr. Loving mother of  Bill Dempsey, III of Milton, FL, Kathy Zimmerman of Littleton, Patrick Dempsey of Weymouth, Brian Dempsey of Scituate, the late Margaret Lima, Michael Dempsey of Weymouth, Jim Dempsey of Milton, and Eileen Dempsey of Tupper Lake, NY.  Sister of the late Gladys Murphy, Dot Murphy and Jean Terrien. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and  many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
