William T. Lowry

Lowry, William T., retired Quincy Fire fighter, of Quincy December 6, 2003. Husband of the late Anna (O’Toole) Lowry. Loving father of Sheila L. Dunbar and her husband Michael of Arlington, VA, Christine Hayden of Stoughton and the late Marybeth Vermette. Father in law of Gil Vermette. Brother of Robert Lowry of Marshfield.and Patricia Butler of So. Boston. Grandfather of Johanna Kearns, Suzanne Hayden, Brian Hayden, Sean Vermette, Laura Gassiraro, Andrew Vermette, Amy Vermette, Christopher Dunbar and Juliana Dunbar. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON Saturday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Thursday and Friday from 4- 8 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.Mr. Lowry served as a Firefighter for the City of Quincy for 40 years, retiring in 1989 and had served as the president of the Quincy Firefighter’s Union. Mr Lowry was involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Easter Seal with the fire dept. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, the Disabled American Veterans and the V.F.W. Post #613. He served as a Marine in the First Marine Division and earned two Purple Hearts during W.W.2. as well as a Presidential Citation. Mr Lowry was a life long member of the First Marine Division Association. Active in Sacred Heart Parish, Mr Lowry was also active in St. Christopher’s Parish located at his summer residence on Peaks Island, Maine.
