William T. Gallagher

Gallagher, William T. of Rockland, died October 19, 2013. 

William was born in Jamaica Plain on June 27, 1920 to the late William E. and Sarah (Connolly) Gallagher.  Growing up in Jamaica Plain and later moving to West Roxbury and Kingston.  William was a WWII Naval Veteran.  He later worked for the MBTA for 34 years, retiring in 1982.  William was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a Communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston before moving to the Grove Manor Estates in Braintree.  William loved to play golf and was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox.  He will be sadly missed.

Beloved husband of the late Dorothy P. (Heidke) Gallagher and the late Betty A. (LaMontagne) Gallagher.  Loving father of William A. Gallagher and his wife Jeanne of Rockland, Richard E. Gallagher and his wife Donna of Germantown, Maryland, Judith A. (Gallagher) Griffin and her husband Joseph of Rockland and Gerald F. Gallagher and his wife Maureen of Medfield.  Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
